The Freehand (TF), a student organization of Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), successfully held Excelencia on October 29, 2021, through Zoom Video Conference Call and Live on The Freehand Facebook page.
Excelencia, a 3-hour webinar that highlighted the topic Designers’ Role in NationBuilding. It came in three parts: Interior Designer’s Role in Nation-Building tackled by IDr. Camella "Camille" Verzo, an Interior Designer and a proud PUP Alumni and Faculty; Urban Planners’ Role in Nation-Building discussed by L.Arch. Rondell C. Gascon, a licensed and registered Landscape Architect and a member of the Philippine Association of Landscape Architects (PALA); and Architects' Role in Nation-Building talked through by an architect and a faculty member at the PUP, College of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment (CADBE), Ar. Melba Andalecio-Paual, PhD.
Attendees of the said webinar are from Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), Rizal Technological University (RTU), Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM), and other universities in the Philippines. More than 120 people registered and participated in the webinar.
The guest speakers discussed and shared their knowledge on their expertise. Every after the discussion, attendees asked questions and the presenters also answered and gave clarifications to attendees' queries.
After the q and a, the hosts gave acknowledgment and recognition to the guest speakers through presenting e-certificates to them. The webinar ended with the closing remark of the Editor-in-Chief of The Freehand and attendees provided feedbacks through a google form survey.
