SAMASA continues to paint the local colleges Red

In the most recent partial and unofficial tally of votes, SAMASA continues to dominate the local colleges in the University.

Seven (7) out of fourteen (14) participating Colleges in the SCE have already been canvassed as of 2:55 PM of October 2, 2021. And for every Colleges where the party runs a candidate, such as College of Architecture, Design, and the Built Environment (CADBE), College of Accountancy and Finance (CAF), College of Arts and Letters (CAL), and College of Communication (COC), SAMASA niches first.

It was a close call for the CAF Student Council when a tiny gap was recorded. For CAFSC Presidential race, Tugalon of SAMASA receives 949 votes, while Felix of Independent slate got 937 votes. These two rival parties made a huge gap on their other third rival, Cabitac of PUP SPEAK. On the other hand, for the Vice-Presidential race, Arce of SAMASA manages to have a much wider gap on her rival candidate Cantona from the independent slate with a 54 votes difference. As for the Councilorial race, SAMASA only managed to snatch two (2) out of six (6) placements in the Top 6 with Funtilar, and Dela Cruz. Bucud, Mendoza, Igna, and Bengco—all from the independent slate—placed on the Top 4 posts in the CAFSC Councilorial race.

It was an unfortunate scene for the incumbent LABAN PUP in the COC Student Council, when SAMASA also swept away the local student council positions in the College. Abila of SAMASA managed to outvote Solinap of LABAN for the COCSC Presidency with 57 votes gap. As for the Vice President, Mendiola, also from SAMASA, received 492 votes compared to his rival candidate from LABAN, Leandicho who only received 351 votes. Two (2) out of six (6) positions in the Top 6 Councilors had been given to LABAN, with Fabella, and Bautista. Buntag, Abucejo, Sarmiento, and Lazaro of SAMASA, occupied the rest.

For the CAL Student Council, it was a landslide result favoring SAMASA with Torralba gaining 418 votes compared to her rival from PUP SPEAK, Dela Torre, who only received 119 votes. For Vice President, it was uncontested for Estabillo from SAMASA. As for the councilors, all six (6) candidates: three (3) from each party of SAMASA and SPEAK, automatically assumed the Top 6 positions.

Finally, SAMASA dominated CADBE Student Council for being unrivaled. College of Computer and Information Sciences (CCIS), College of Engineering (CE), and College of Human Kinetics (CHK), were also unopposed from any party aside from the independent slate vying for the local student council positions.

As for the Central Student Council, SAMASA's standard-bearers continue to make a huge gap from its rivals from the independent slate, and PUP SPEAK. For the Top 12 Councilors, all seven (7) candidates from SAMASA managed to take a slot, sharing it with Borlagon, Buenavente, Casupanan, Cortez, and Villanueva from the independent slate. #Makialam #PUPSCE2021
