PUP'S PUNO NG PANGARAP PAROL ENTERS THE NATIONWIDE PAROL MAKING COMPETITION 2023

As the season of Christmas is felt around the corner, the Malacañang Palace proudly launched the Nationwide Parol Making Competition 2023. Students from all existing State Universities in the Philippines are encouraged to join and participate in the said competition which was opened from September 1 until October 27, 2023.

Like the other state universities, PUP have also decided to join the competition and after careful deliberation by President Muhi and the Executive Officers of the University, they proudly announce the four participants from PUP CADBE-BSID, Rica Mae An, Brian Gregory Arañez, Anna Franchesca Villaruel and Fane Alluck Yao, with their very own parol called Puno ng Pangarap.

In a video released by the PUP Students' Integrated League of Interior Design in their Facebook page, Puno ng Pangarap is made from the fallen branches and leaves of the trees existing in the beautiful campus of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Puno ng Pangarap takes on two different meaning; Punó meaning tree and Punô meaning full. The concept of Puno ng Pangarap, quote, embodies the passion that encircles in PUP's representation of the growth of its students. The participants mention that just like the trees, Pung Pangarap parol aims to stand as an awareness to the importance of trees in our community and also a call for action to protect the natural resources in our country.

Online polling for the Nationwide Parol Making Competition will end on November 17, 2023 at exactly 12 AM. The winner of the online polling will be determined through the number of heart reactions given on the entry, as they will be given a ten-point advantage during the parol judging. In addition to that, a cash prize of ₱100,000.00 (One hundred thousand pesos) awaits the winner of the online polling.

Students are greatly encouraged to go and vote for our representative by using their Facebook Account to give a heart (♥️) reaction and to share the official entry post of the university in the competition, found at the Social Secretary's Office Facebook Page.
