Officiated by Fr. Mark Dumanuele, the blessing of the new PUP gym and two brand new buses were held today, October 22, 2021, at the entrance of the newly erected building showcasing its façade. Along with the development of the old gymnasium, the building has been rebranded as the PUP Multipurpose Building and Sports Development Facility. It has expanded into catering more commercial spaces, events, and sports activities and has the capacity to accommodate two thousand people.
The design of the exterior as President Muhi stated “the façade characterizes the new image of PUP.”
The ground floor contains a large-scale basketball court, two indoor tennis courts, newly furbished bleachers, and a performance stage for events. The second floor comprises four multipurpose rooms, additional offices, and storage rooms for sports equipment.
To recall, PUP Gymnasium’s renovation started in March 2018 under the supervision of the late president Dr. Emmanuel C. De Guzman.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was then conducted by the executive committee members joined by current PUP President Manual Muhi, in which announces the opening of the PUP Multipurpose Building and Sports Development Facility to the PUP community.
