PUP suggested the use of USB flash drives for the students under the Correspondence Mode of Learning (MOL) as PUP President Manuel Muhi stated on his address during the PUP Flag Raising Ceremony last April 5, 2021.
In heed to the reported incidents regarding the correspondence mode of learning which is one of the learning modes under the Flexible Technology Enhanced Learning (FlexTel) of PUP, students and faculty members have raised concerns regarding some issues and delays in the distribution of the printed instructional materials (IMs) as well as the mismatched course modules encountered on the delivery of IMs to the correspondence students during the first semester. Some of the students claimed that they did not received the printed IMs which raised another concern in the correspondence mode of learning. However, PUP granted the students under the said MOL to complete their requirements through online submission.
Due to these concerns, PUP suggested an alternative action. President Muhi said that the IMs will be given to the students under the correspondence mode of learning via USB flash drives instead of printed materials for faster distribution which is also a lot cheaper than the printing costs.
According to Pres. Muhi, the distribution of the printed instructional materials are still available for the few students under the correspondence mode who answered on the survey posted in the Student Information System (SIS) accounts few months ago, that receiving their instructional materials are a necessay to be in printed form.
Meanwhile, Pres. Muhi reminded that everyone is allowed to attend the online classes whether what MOL of the students they belong as long as they have an internet access to do so.
“Hinihiling ko po sa mga faculty members natin na bigyan ng instructional materials ang lahat ng mga students na naka-enrol na sa klase, whether yan po ay online at under correspondence at i-allow po ang lahat ng students na pumasok sa online lecture kahit na sila ay naka-correspondence kung mayroon silang internet connection,” he said.
