— a National Artist for Architecture who pioneered modern Philippine Architecture. Behind his basic designs was the word simplicity; the lines are clean and smooth and curves were made integral to the structure. Pablo Antonio pointed out, "Every line must have a meaning, a purpose. Function comes first before aesthetics." He also maximized the use of natural light and cross ventilation in his designs.
In 1971, he received the Patnubay ng Sining at Kalinangan Award from the City of Manila.
In 1976, Pablo S. Antonio was posthumously named as a National Artist.
His major works include the following: Far Easter University Administration and Science buildings; Manila Polo Club; Ideal Theater; Lyric Theater; Galaxy Theater; Capitan Luis Gonzaga Building; Boulevard-Alhambra apartments (otherwise known as Bel-Air at present); Ramon Roces Publication Building (now known as Guzman Institute of Electronics).
