The 24th ANAK PUP Federation has wrapped up its election for the position of Student Regent and its Executive Committee today, December 10, 2023.
PUP Sentral ng Konseho ng Mag-aaral (SKM) President, Miss Kim Modelo, won the position of President and Student Regent of the 24th ANAK PUP Federation with a whooping 26 votes from different departments and branches of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. Modelo’s win marks a history as she is the first transgender woman Student Regent of the university. Modelo is a 3rd Year Bachelor of Arts in English Language (ABELS) student who is also known as the main convener of the PUP Budget Increase Alliance.
Meanwhile, self-nominated PUPT CSC President Carl Ianne Ramos wins the position of Executive Vice President, and PUP MB CSC President Ramon Christopher H. Raquion assumes the position of Vice President for Branches, garnering 8 votes and 0 abstentions. PUP Pulilan CSC President Rheneboy Tabon also won the position of Vice President for Campuses in the recently held election. CADBE’s very own SC President John Darrow Amorosa is also declared as the new Finance Officer for the 24th ANAK PUP Federation.
For the meantime, the position of Quezon-Ragay Cluster Representative is announced to be vacant as PUP Unisan SSC President Jeriel Bersaba received 1 abstain and 0 votes.

Finding the next Student Regent
A Student Regent will be the representative and the voice of the 80,000+ Iskolars ng Bayan in the PUP Board of Regents, the highest policy-making body in the university. The student regent will also be in charge of the general assemblies and federation meetings that will be done in the near future. The elected student regent will also be fulfilling the role of leading the activities propagated by the council representing the student body of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
24th ANAK PUP Congress initiates a three day General Assembly
The 24th ANAK PUP Congress recently concluded a three-day online General Assembly via Zoom on December 8-10, 2023, attended by different student leaders of various existing organizations in the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
Current Presider and Student Regent Wilhelm Provido leads the first day of the General Assembly but is subsequently replaced by COED SC President Janssen Dela Pena as he directs the continuation of the assembly, tackling topics such as the review of the agenda, revision of the implementing rules and regulations of the organization regarding the elections, and the nomination for the next Student Regent and the Executive Committee of the 24th ANAK PUP Congress.
As of yesterday, PUP Sentral ng Konsehong Magaaral President Kim Modelo has been formally announced as the only candidate for the position of Student Regent. CADBE SC President John Darrow Amorosa is also vying for the position of Finance Officer.

Meanwhile, the Alyansa ng Kabataang Mamamahayag ng PUP have announced on Saturday, December 10, 2023, that they have formally received the Revised Implementation of Rules and Regulations (IRR) on Elections of the Executive Committee of ANAK PUP via email around 6:15 P.M., sent by acting incumbent president Mr. Janssen Dela Pena.
In a statement released by Dela Pena posted by the Alyansa ng Kabataang Mamamahayag ng PUP on their Facebook page, he stated, quote:
“The document is only forwarded for dissemination at this hour as we also had to rest considering that the 2nd day of the 24th ANAK PUP Congress adjourned a few minutes before 3:00 AM today. After which, as I had to personally attend to it, given that it is a responsibility vested in the current seat I am holding, it took me some time to finalize the document, as well as ensure that despite the formatting changes applied to its contents is that the articles, sections, and provisions did not change its meanings at all. Furthermore, after doing the finalization of the document of the IRR, I also had to ensure that it is well-relayed and reaffirmed by the other members of the ANAK PUP by sending it through our official chat group.”
Mr. Dela Pena urged not only the Election Committee, but also the AKM, to read and review the revised IRR.
As of today, December 10, 2023, The 24th ANAK PUP Congress initiated a Miting de Avance and election for the new President of the 24th ANAK PUP Federation and Student Regent, as well as its Executive Committee, who will represent the 80,000+ Iskolars ng Bayan of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
The expectations and messages for the next Student Regent from Iskolars ng Bayan of PUP
To be a student regent, one shall be responsible enough to know the weight of the role they are assuming. He or she shall prioritize the best interest of the student body of PUP in mind. One shall also have the courage to stand up for the democratic rights of the Iskolars ng Bayan. Above all, one shall possess a heart of gold not only for their fellow students, but also for the people.
Students from various year levels of the College of Architecture, Design and Built Environment voiced out their expectations and messages for the next Student Regent and Executive Committee of the 24th ANAK PUP Congress.
Angelica Ansay from BS ARCH 3-1 said she hopes the new Student Regent and the Executive Committee should focus on the equity of every student of PUP. She emphasizes that no voice should be left behind. Every thought matters for us to be as one inside the campus. She also adds that as Student Regent, one must set goals and rules to direct it, having fiduciary responsibility for its programs and assets.
The student body of PUP expressed high expectations of who will be the next Student Regent that will lead the 24th ANAK PUP Federation. They hope that whoever will hold the position will remain transparent, responsible and has a high sense of duty to fulfill their role as the leader of the 24th ANAK PUP Federation.
