College of Architecture and Fine Arts (CAFA), with the help of College of Architecture and Fine Arts Alumni Association, United Architects of the Philippines Graduate Auxiliary (UAPGA) — Sta. Mesa Chapter, College of Architecture and Fine Arts Student Council, United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary (UAPSA) — PUP Chapter, Students' Integrated League of Interior Design (SILID), and The Freehand held a Thanksgiving Mass followed by a Testimonial Dinner in Bulwagang Balagtas yesterday, September 8, 2018.
In celebration of the college for the new licensed Architects, Interior Designers, Environmental Planners and thanksgiving for Architect Noel Domingo, college's one of the pioneer instructors in the Department of Architecture for his dedication on teaching the profession in the College until he retired this school year, the said event have successfully been concluded.
Special guest Architect Royal Pineda, the CEO of Budji + Royal, Architecture + Design Company inspired the newly licensed professionals with his speech, "the ultimate inspiration is always Betterment. You can not repeat somebody else's work and just repeat it. You have to make sure that you discover something new about it and you should be able to bring it to the next level."
Architect Paolo Gabriel Martires, being the first-ever to snatch the first spot in ALE in CAFA history also delivered his message to all the attendees of the event, inspiring everyone of how they have gone through all the struggles of finishing the degree and earning apprenticeship years before taking the licensure exam and finally passing it. To give honor to the University and the College, looking forward for all the best until the College has finally been recognize as one of the best schools for the profession was all of his best wishes for as he finished his speech.
In 30 years of existence of Architecture in the University, previously being under in the same college with Engineering, we can all see the progress and efforts being given to all of the students and graduates of CAFA. Inspired by the legacies of the previous successful students in the College, CAFA will always be striving forward and looking for innovations to enhance its programs while maintaining the family-oriented feeling within the College. CAFA will always be CAFA, that is the very reason why we have the tagline: #humility#in#excellence
