With the theme “GAMEON: Surviving Challenges and Building Allies to the Arena of Interior Design” the orientation for the PUP-ID Department, started with a small ice breaker with Slido for the viewers led by the host, Justine Quierez. A glimpse of the Department’s humble story was shown followed by the introduction to the University Executives and College officials led by IDr. Arlene Magpayo, the chairperson of the Department of Interior Design.
IDr. Magpayo also discussed information about the course program, BSID curriculum, PUP Student Handbook after a video was played showing the academic and non-academic organizations in the college.
Interior Design’s first speaker and guest speaker was Roger Enriquez Cariño Jr., and IDr. Che-che Dela Cruz, both PUP Interior Design Alumni tackled about their college journey and shared tips as well for the ID freshies’ upcoming path.
Meanwhile, Ar. Jocelyn A. Rivera-Lutap opened the Department of Architecture and Environmental Planning Freshmen Assembly with an opening remark. The Orientation’s hosts, John Benedict Castillo and Adrienne Magallon as well gave the participants a glance at the four parts of the event which are the Department-wide assembly, student academic affairs, online modality orientation, and open-floor discussion.
A video clip was also presented as a short introduction for the know-abouts about the College followed by a short virtual tour inside the PUP-CEA.
The Chairperson of the Department of Architecture, Ar. Reynaldo C. Ventura Jr. and the Chairperson of the Bachelor of Science in Environmental Planning, Ar. Anthony C. Yan, meanwhile discussed the BSArch and BSEnP and its respective student handbooks.
Mr. Christ Michael Entienza, MP, RPm, RGC, the Guidance Counselor of CADBE gave more insight on the Guidance Services in the college. He also discussed mental health awareness and possible coping mechanisms amidst the pandemic.
At the end of the orientation, an open forum was initiated for the question and answer and other clarifications from the freshies.
