Although the INTJ, one of the MBTI personality types, is only 14th in rank, making it one of the rarest, it is more common than most people think.
INTJs or “the architects” are described as ‘thoughtful tacticians’ and are known for their independence and constant analysis of their surroundings. With this description, a few fictional and non-fictional people already come to mind, right?
Wednesday Addams, from the Addams Family franchise and Wednesday on Netflix, is a good example of an architect. Even though her methods might seem bizarre from an outsider’s point of view, her independent and unique thoughts show that she is indeed an INTJ. Some other INTJ characters from TV shows are Walter White from Breaking Bad, Severus Snape from Harry Potter, and Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings.
Professor Moriarty, from the Sherlock Holmes franchise, is an INTJ too. Either on a Netflix show or an anime series, Sherlock’s famous rival uses his intellect and strategic thinking to cook up schemes and scenarios for Sherlock. In the anime Yuukoku no Moriarty, where Moriarty is the protagonist, it was revealed that Moriarty’s game plan was for the sake of flipping London’s unfair social system—only an INTJ would be able to take that method and see through to the end. Other INTJ anime characters are Kurapika and Meruem from Hunter x Hunter, Akaashi Keiji from Haikyuu, and Lelouch vi Britannia from Code Geass.
Another example would be Kim Dokja from the manhwa Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint. Dokja led his group through the apocalypse using his knowledge of stories. His unorthodox plans often concern his group, even when he considers how they will affect each one of them before executing them. With how he navigates through challenges and outsmarts his opponents, Kim Dokja is an architect through and through. Some other INTJ characters are Sung Jinwoo from Solo Leveling, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and Scar from The Lion King.
Some famous names like mathematician Isaac Newton, naturalist Charles Darwin, novelist Jane Austen, and composer Ludwig van Beethoven also belong to the INTJ category. These brilliant minds, who contributed knowledge and works to various fields of math, science, literature, and music used their rational, curious, and determined natures to pursue their goals in their field of Interest.
Interestingly enough, INTJs are also known as masterminds among personality types. They view the world as a giant chess game, where one wrong move will probably lead to a checkmate. Even then, architects use their creative and imaginative minds to sift through the path they’ve made for themselves and pick out the best options. And, as people can probably conclude from the list of INTJ personalities above, architects are not entirely antisocial or apathetic. Architects simply set their priorities straight but are not closed off to the idea of romance or friendship. These dubious architects rely on their own discoveries and perceptions, using them to develop strategies and plans while also being considerate of the people around them.
